I hope you never think of me as one of those ignorant and uneducated people whose only purpose in life is to look up to celebrities and spending money and whatever. I saw the news and my thoughts went out to you immediately. I just hope you're ok and your family and you get through this alright.
It's a weird, weird world. :(

Nice post. You have my sincere sympathy.. Let's hope this thing doesn't ignite any more than a rather peaceful demonstration (1 demonstrator died from fire wounds apparently RIP).

As for the "help"; some of it is actually meant as help.
Other parts of it is what power's all about; more power.

Being ignorant is not the worst thing here. It's the attention we didn't want. Actually, some of the people who are "less fortunate" are not "less fortunate" because they didn't have luck to be born somewhere else where it's all great, but because "the big guys" made us less fortunate.

If you ask me, and I believe many people all over the Balkans would agree, we just want to be left alone. If we're gonna fight, let it be our war. America has its problems, other countries have their own shit- so why don't they just leave us alone? Please, US/NATO/EU/whoeveryouare, please, stop "helping" us.

This post is definitely thought-provoking. I had to read it twice to come up with a response.

I often feel sorry for people whose lives revolve around their favourite shoes and celebrities. People ask me, 'Would you ever want to be someone famous?', and I say that I would most definitely not. These days, people just want someone to make them feel better about themselves. I suppose it makes people feel safe that there are others that are less fortunate than them. There's a theory that revolves around that idea, but I can't remember what it's called.

But it's true; people don't know a lot about what is going on around them. I admit that I'm very ignorant. Most of the time I find out what's going on by walking into my social studies class and talking about what others know about current events. It's sad, it really is. I need to work on being more aware of things that are important.

Iva is alright, those riots in out lovely Belgrade were as not as bad as some news reported. Sure, it was bad, but this city has seen worse. They (journalists) just made a big deal because US embassy was attacked.

Much worse thing is Kosovo independence, it will bring no good to anybody, not even Albanians from Kosovo, who are not really independent, they are under government of EU... heck, they are under US government, we all know it.

I was looking at the news just now, and they were showing that in Belgrade the police had to intervene to stop demonstrations. I hope you're OK... it looked really bad.

I don't really know what to comment, because on the one hand I understand wanting to get separated, but on the other hand it's not good to keep letting every idiot form their own country.

Ah, it's complicated. And my interest in politics is almost nonexistent... so I'm probably not the best person to offer help. I hope nothing dangerous will happen to you though. Take care.

Almost poetic, but hard to understand a bit... but this is what the world is. It's hard to live in something that is so much bigger and beyond us.
