Cuil?! Not yet, sorry.

So, this morning when I woke up, my father told me to check out Cuil, the next new best thing a.k.a. the faster search engine. As I can see, famous bloggers write about it, too; but…there is always a “but”, isn’t it.

If you’re using a British or American version of Google, then when you search for John Frusciante, you’ll probably see my other website, Invisible Movement as the third or fourth result.

If you’re using Cuil, Invisible Movement won’t even be on the third page and I have no idea if it’s indexed at all.

I tried to search for Invisible Movement instead of John Frusciante and, this is what happened. The engine indexed two totally random pages from my site on the first page and a bunch of other random pages on the second page of its search results. So…I don’t think I’m pleased, given how I did everything to optimise the site in question for search engines.

Not to mention what happens when one searches for squirrelism.

  1. “Squirrelism is the only true religion…” made me giggle. How random.

  2. I heard about this on the news today, and I don’t like it much either. According to Cuil, my website doesn’t even exist! Also, I don’t like the way it often gives you results which aren’t the actual homepage of a website. I think I’ll stick to Google for now.

  3. Humm…I think I will just stick with Google. I haven’t even seen anything on it before. It might not even make it to anything. :/ Who knows?
