Oh, Vienna…

December 12th, 2006

So, where I was last week? Well, I spent four days/three nights in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Vienna. For those whose knowledge of geography is so bad that it’s almost unbelievable: it’s the capital of Austria;) The 640km long trip by train was worth every single second of it. It was not my first time there, but as I have not been to Vienna since 1991; now, being much older than back then, I had a chance to go sightseeing with a dear friend whom I often call an illegal older sister, and in the evenings we were doing some different kind of sightseeing with a bunch of others :p Actually, thousands of others, come to think of that. I am currently writing a whole story about it (the one on my LJ will be slightly different than the one here) and, until then, here are some of the sights I have seen:

Giant Ferris Wheel
the mechanics of the Wiener Riesenrad

The Square Of Heroes
Victory square, I suppose? Budapest has one too…

Karlskirche
Karlskirche…we actually climbed the highest tower from the inside!

Upper Belvedere
Upper Belvedere

John Frusciante at the RHCP show on 07th December
Maestro himself, the wonderful John Frusciante, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

As soon as I’m done with work obligations (which will include a bit of showing off, as I made a BEAUTIFUL website for my “main” job!), I will tell you guys more….;)

Vienna, huh? *Sigh*. It’d be so nice if I were to live closer to anything that’s cool. The nearest “okay” city to me is Toronto–and it’s about two-thirds of the distance from Beograd to Vienna (so, it’s about 450 km from me).

Damn Canada for being so spread out.

Anyway, it seems you had a really good time (well, after getting to see John up close like that, is it really any wonder? ^^).

    -Adri.

Wow. BEAUTIFUL pictures. I wish I could visit Vienna. People always say living in the USA is wonderful but out history is nothing compared to Europe.

Aw, those pictures are beautiful! I recently met someone who is part Austrian and Japanese, so the stories she’s been telling me about Vienna sound awesome! The pictures look absolutely fantastic! Now I wanna go visit too!

Wow, Vienna looks beautiful. I think that it’s good to travel around again when you’re older because you appreciate things so much more than when you’re younger.

Sounds like you had a great time. The pictures are absolutely beautiful. I’ve always wanted to visit Austria. It’s my goal to visit as least half of all the countries in the world.

Vienna looks beautiful… I’ve never been, but hope to someday. You said that you had been there before, was it as you remembered it?

Congrats on being able to go to a live concert of RHCP.

The pictures are beautiful, I didn’t know Vienna had a Victory Square too, which was why I wondered - why you would put a picture of Budapest in there :P.

Can’t wait to see the design… now I’m really curious.
    :D

Wow, some great pics you have taken, especially the John Frusciante one (how I found your blog).

My mother and sister loved Vienna, but found it too expensive, but I guess a lot of places are expensive these days.
